The campaign runs on Kickstarter, outside this shop: backing the project happens there, and nothing is added to your cart.

The rumble of war drums, the cries of the battlefield fading into the dawn, the tarnished steel of weapons, the metallic smell of blood...

Bloodflowers is an artbook featuring a collection of portraits of warrior queens.

The story

Many women have shaped history: strong personalities who used all their ingenuity to defend their convictions. They were present in every field, war included, where women rose up against the most powerful civilisations and raised armies to defend their culture and free their people from oppression.

Discover through the brush of Manon Potier these extraordinary queens, whose bravery and deeds left their mark on their time. Women who overturned the established order, impressed their enemies and inspired their descendants, to the point of becoming emblematic figures of their people, jewels of a thousand-year-old legend.

Before Xena, Leia Organa or Calanthe of Cintra, real royals from all over the world walked the battlefields to save their people, avenge their family or expand their empire.

These queens, princesses and clan leaders are part of our history; some became symbols and local icons, others were forgotten… Bloodflowers is a collection of portraits of historical figures, a book full of inspiring women who fought for their cause and shook the very idea of power.

The book

Bloodflowers features watercolour portraits of historical women, each with a description of her deeds and a poem by Sergio Matsumoto, game designer at DTDA Games.

The book will be divided into chapters grouping the resistance fighters, the conquerors, and those who fought against one specific empire, such as the Roman Empire.

At DTDA Games, we care about making elegant, refined objects, which is why we chose to print the book in France, with a printer specialised in art books.

Book details:

  • 64 printed pages
  • 19x27 cm
  • Bound hardcover
  • Bilingual: French and English
  • 170 g ivory paper
