Apogee — Kickstarter campaign

2 to 5 player mode

Apogee has 2 game modes; in each of them, players start by selecting a mission. This mission is the main objective you must reach to win: you will have to be the first Mission Director to build and launch a rocket. Each mission has its own difficulty level and its own playing time.

After setup, each round is played in 3 phases. Players play each phase simultaneously.

1. Planning phase
During the planning phase, you assign actions to your team of Engineers. These actions are: designing a specific Technology, building a stage of your rocket, or using your Engineers’ specialty.

2. Launch phase
Event cards now come into play. If the weather is on your side, and above all if you have built a powerful enough rocket, you can launch into space. Did you check and double-check your calculations? The further you want to go, the harder the launch will be.

3. Administration phase
The administration phase marks the end of a quarter: you receive your budget for the next quarter. As Mission Director, you will have to make crucial decisions for the future of your space program. Will you hire more Engineers? Will you sell obsolete Technologies on the public market, or use your influence to disrupt your competitors?

Mission accomplished
The players who complete the mission in the same round win the game!
Don’t fall behind, and make sure History remembers you!

Solo mode

With the same components, you can play Apogee solo. As in multiplayer mode, you select a mission and thereby adjust your playing time from 20 minutes to 1 hour or more. We are also working on 6 additional solo missions on top of the 9 existing ones. Playing solo, you also get a score that you will try to beat the next time you play the same mission.
